Accessibility statement¶
This accessibility statement applies to the New Interpretation Browser application version v4.0.1. The New Interpretation Browser application is run by Genomics England Limited. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this application.
We have aimed to make this application accessible and user friendly. Where possible, we have made every effort to make our application accessible to WCAG 2.1 level AA standards and to be compatible with assistive technologies.
Conformance status¶
The New Interpretation Browser application is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content¶
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:
- Bypass Blocks – The Skip to content link is present but does not function as expected, failing to move focus to the main content. This fails WCAG 2.2 Level A success criterion 2.4.1 (Bypass Blocks).
- Non-text content – A few instances where visual indicators do not have appropriate text alternatives, making them inaccessible to screen reader users. This fails WCAG 2.1 Level A success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content).
- Label in Name – Visually presented labels (e.g. SNV, STR) do not match their programmatic names, creating issues for users relying on voice control. This fails WCAG 2.1 Level A success criterion 2.5.3 (Label in Name).
- Focus Order – The order in which interactive elements receive keyboard focus is inconsistent, especially in areas with dynamic content such as data grids and classification selectors. This fails WCAG 2.2 Level A success criterion 2.4.3 (Focus Order).
- Reflow – When text is resized or the viewport is reduced, some elements do not reflow properly or become difficult to access. This fails WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criterion 1.4.10 (Reflow).
- Focus Visibility – Not all focusable elements provide a clear visible focus indicator. This fails WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criterion 2.4.7 (Focus Visible).
The necessary measures are to be taken in order to reach full compliance.
